If I were you I'd go to the ER. You cannot play with your appendix. It can burst and spread poison throughout your body. The pain will get worse, not better. Go see a doctor now...
It can be the appendix, but if you're a female in your teens/20's/30's, it's fairly likely that what you're experiencing is an ovarian cyst. These can rupture and be incredibly painful, but there isn't much you can/need to do about it. Most often, the cyst will go away on its own over time.
If your pain is the very low part of your right lower quadrant, it could be your appendix. When you press on it does it hurt moe before you press or after you realise you hand and then you get bad pain, that is called rebounding pain which is where your Dr will ask you. If it gets to bad you need to go to the dr because it can get serious.
I ask the same question and someone told me too much food!
There is an old saying, well don't press down on it. Best to have checked out if it is causing you much discomfort
