The best way to be sure on the safety of your unborn baby would be to talk to a medical professional as we are not really authorized to give out medical advice. If you are unsure about doing anything whilst you are pregnant then you should eliminate any risk by not doing it at all. It is better to be safe than sorry and if your doctor tells you it is ok then you will know for sure.

When you are pregnant you will feel as though you are being followed around by this huge list of do's and don'ts. If you are newly pregnant and are unsure what is safe to do, then below is a short list on how best to protect your child.

  • Alcohol and drugs
Everyone knows this. Study after study has shown that drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and taking illegal drugs can have terrible effects on your developing baby. Alcohol and drugs can cause your child to be born with physical and mental birth defects and smoking can greatly increase the risk of a low birth weight and premature labor.

  • Hot water
Not a lot of people are aware of this one, but the American College of Obstetrictians and Gynecologists (ACOG) believe that it is not safe for pregnant women to raise their body temperature above 101 degrees Fahrenheit as this can result in birth defects. If you are pregnant, avoid hot tubs and saunas as these will be way to warm, but a warm (not scalding hot) bath will be perfectly safe for your baby.

  • Over-the-counter medication
Many kinds of over the counter medication, including aspirin, have been linked to an increased rate of miscarriages when taken during early pregnancy. When taken in the later stages of pregnancy, they have been shown to increase the risk of placenta abruption, which is when the placenta detaches from the site of implantation early.

If you being the mother happen to inhale gas fumes, when having a kid in your womb then it could not possibly be a miscarriage but it could lead to some kid of defects for the child. It is very much advisable for a an expecting mother that in case she smells something different or even suspicious then it is very important that she leaves the area.

Try and be away from a room that is being currently being painted or even fresh paint in that case. When you are storing idle paint or chemicals, make sure they are preserved firmly and try to stock them up outdoors. If a little stinks, this could also include your husband then leave the room. Switch on your fans in any room you're repainting to rapidity drying and break up toxic vapours.
