What Are The Effects Of Smoking Skunk(cannabis)?

Firstly, as you may already know, buying and being in possession of cannabis is an illegal act in almost all countries in the world. Therefore, before you go ahead and buy or take such a drug, you should be fully aware that you will be breaking the law by doing so.

Skunk cannabis is one of the strongest strains of the drug and so the effects can be exaggerated. Many people who take it say they feel more relaxed, chilled out and therefore a calmer feeling leaves them in a state of joy. Others have talked about feeling very hungry - known as 'getting the munchies' - while others say they suddenly find everything funny and can't stop laughing.

Although the effects stated above sound very harmless and even enjoyable, taking skunk cannabis can also cause some less desirable effects. People have said they have hallucinations and that everything around them slows down.

It is also important to note that many doctors and researchers have indicated that prolonged use of cannabis can result in mental health conditions such as paranoia and even schizophrenia. Also if you try to quit smoking cannabis it can actually be as hard as quitting smoking cigarettes. You will feel similar withdrawal symptoms and so many people who try actually fail to ever get off it. Therefore you must take all this into consideration and think is it really worth it?

My daughter who is 25, has been smoking skunk for some time. She admit that she had a cannabis habit from 14! My daughter has had a total personality change and is always aggressive. She gets very down too..her beautiful white teeth are also ruined and she has no ambition! Its got to the point that we cannot communicate anymore..I really dont like her. I love her still but I just cant find..any her former self. I feel I might as well lose her to crack..for all the purpose she has.

I agree Sigy. I spent 6 years in Australia and smoked very heavily for 21/2. By the end of the 2 1/2 years I was smoking a 1/4 ounce through a bong per day. I had a breakdown and it has taken me over 3 years to rebuild my life. It caused my marriage to fail and my personality to change. I became a very aggressive person. I now work in psychiatric medicine and see the results of heavy use of cannibas. Keep smoking to a minimum. Occsionally is enough. I do not go near the stuff anymore.

Okay, so I've tried both, ''normal'' weed and skunk and I have to say, smoking skunk was one of the worst experiences in my entire life... It's not like weed at all, smoking weed is enjoyable but skunk... Well I experienced a panic attack, my heart almost exploded and I had a nervous breakdown, I was sure I was going crazy and I was going to die... I don't even want to mention all the effects, I just advise you.. If you're smart, you won't touch it...

Please don't minimise the effects of skunk, as opposed to cannabis resin or less potent marijuana. That is misguided and harmful. I work with the fall-out of it every day and believe me there are individuals out there that are seriously unable to handle the effects. Great if it's not you. Well done. You have my admiration that you can 'handle your liquor'. Let's not go there by discussing the countless lives affected by personality change and aggressive behaviour; not just the individual but the families affected by it.

So... If you feel that skunk has no place in a discussion of harm relating to drugs then you have no insight into the problem and probably should be elsewhere, eg a Probation Office or a Drugs Misuse agency.

Simple, really.

What is wrong with you guys?  People have come onto this forum to share their PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and you feel it's okay to tell them something different.  I find this really arrogant.  Weed does not suit everyone.

You will not hallucinate or have delusions from weed. Do not listen to Tausif they've never touched the stuff. They only know what they have been taught. You will get hungry, laugh, and be a little stupid while under its affect. It can be harmful to your lungs. However, you can eat it. It is adsorbed though the fat cells when injected. The 1st time you wont feel much.

i think that you should be careful about applying your opinion/experiences on others, Jwyatt. Like any drug, cannabis affects people in different ways, dependent on a number of factors such as previous experiences, other drugs used, and any existing health/mental health conditions. I have been a weed smoker since i was 15 and at 20 gave it up again after several experiences which scared the crap out of me (large amount smoked, hallucinations, paranoia) and since then i have struggled with my own mental health. I smoked again since and though had a great time, laughed a lot etc (like when i first started), it takes me longer to get it out of my system and back to "normal. I think you should be careful singing weeds praises, as not everyone has the same experiences as you.

I do not know anyone that has ever had hallucination from weed. Even when smoking large amounts. I have had some of the best weed there is. According to Denmark coffee shops. I have smoked huge amounts in one night. Perhaps yours weed was laced with something, i suppose. Or perhaps your own existing mental illnesses' were to blame. I was not singing weed praises as you claim. Yes, it affects people in different ways. Yet perhaps also you started smoking too young. perhaps. Also, ones body will build up a tolerance to anything including weed. So, yes it is absolutely normal for you to take longer to come back to "normal." That is to be expected. Just like if a smoker does not smoke for a few days the effects will be greater. The longer the wait the higher one will feel.

Smoking Skunk has many psychoactive and physiological effects when it is taken. Its side effects are memory difficulties or paranoid and strange ideas, and can lead to psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions.

I think it’s highly irresponsible and silly for people to imply cannabis/week/skunk isn’t dangerous. It is extremely dangerous. The fact that some people can smoke it and achieve the desired effects, i.e being relaxed, stoned etc, doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone.

My sister smoked weed for a short while, and enjoyed it she said before she moved to skunk for a stronger buzz. The skunk turned her psychotic and she needed to sectioned under the mental health act. Be careful!!!

General malaise, depression, aggression, inability to interact, tiredness, psychological addiction.  On the plus side with moderate use you can have a great time and a good laugh with friends but the problem with today's teenagers is they don't seem to know when to stop or moderate their use.  If you ate chocolate 24-7 the effects could be catastrophic...same with drug taking.

We have a person smoking what we guess is skunk weed in our condo building.  A few other persons are feeling ill.  I had something that felt like anxiety and heart racing today.  I'm a healthy person, it was not pleasant.  I had a headache and nausea on a previous day. This is results from people who are not smoking it, ie second hand smoke.  If it works for you then choose your poison but we must realize just like other things the effect depends on their body chemistry not just the quality of the product.

Many of my childhood friends were burnouts/potheads in high school and into their 30's.  Most of them wish they hadn't and feel their brain function was impacted.  I have a couple friends who legally grow/take for medical reasons.  They feel it is the lesser evil.

If you are going to smoke marijuhana, I would say think again, smoking anything is unnatural and bad for your health, however I will say that weed grown in the ground ie normal cannabis has to be the most natural, I read somewhere that it was grown years back for cow fodder, or did I hullicinate this? Other forms such as the strong strains and mixing anything with it in a smoke is not wise

Skun usage through smoking can truly cause lung problem but its psychoactive effect can not be managed by all users . Watch and shine your eye before usage.

With light to moderate use expect short term impairment of memory and cognitive ability. It is debated but a number of studies suggest that heavier use can lead to permanent cognitive impairment . In men heavy use can lead to testicular atrophy. All this is in addition to the lung damage inhaling any type of smoke can cause.

What a load of uninformed,non-backed up,non researched, rubbish. That's what you get if you look to the internet.Poorly researched, biased information where you have no idea where it is being funded from or who by.And as for something where Wikipedia is the main source!!!Haha!!! You'd have to be really stoned to believe anything in there.Nice try though!Haha!I shall save myself the bother of getting articles with exactly the opposite results in it,by actual medical bodies.
