Triamcimolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid specialized for the treatment of skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. As such, using triamcimolone acetonide cream to treat hemorrhoids is not advisable, given it is not designed for this purpose.
Triamcimolone acetonide cream is intended to reduce swelling, itching and redness, and is considered a medium to strong potency medication. Medical sources indicate the cream is for external use only and recommendations state that it should not be used on sensitive areas of skin such as the face, groin or underarms. Therefore, use in and around the anus is highly unwise and could cause a great deal of discomfort. There are however, a number of other methods useful in treating hemorrhoids.

The first step towards treating hemorrhoids is relieving the symptoms associated with them, by;
- Using topical ointments/creams or specialist suppositories designed for the treatment of hemorrhoids (e.g. Preparation H or witch hazel ointment). Many of these are available over the counter. Applying home remedies such as aloe vera gel also provides relief (if you are too embarrassed to order specialist treatments such as that above).
- Applying ice packs to the area to reduce swelling
- Soaking in a warm bath (sometimes known as a sitz bath) for around ten minutes per day
- Avoiding the use of harsh sanitary paper; try using baby wipes instead
- Changing your eating habits to include more fibrous foods (e.g. Whole-wheat bread, pasta etc)
- Using laxatives or stool softeners will help relieve any discomfort in bowel movements
- Drinking at least 2 liters of water per day
