There are many species of mold which can cause health hazards in humans. The severity of these hazards depends upon type of the mold, age of the infected person and response of immune system. The molds can be transmitted through inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin.
The symptoms which can suspect mold infection are Allergy which includes coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes, asthma, sinusitis and throat irritation. These molds secrete volatile organic compounds which can cause headache, dizziness and difficulty in concentration. Sometimes, molds can cause invasive disease. 
Molds grow in moist conditions. So, if you have above mentioned symptoms and moisture at you home due to water leakage or rooms without cross ventilation and sunlight then you can suspect mold infection. Your doctor can diagnose if you have mold infection.
