The simple answer is no, 35.5 degrees Celsius is not a normal body temperature. Someone who has such a temperature needs to be medically examined immediately.

The normal body temperature is 37 degrees Celsius; anything lower or higher, even by a degree or two, is very dangerous indeed. The body runs on a very narrow optimum temperature range, when outside these bounds serious effects such as hypothermia can set in.

Hypothermia can be present when a person has a body temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius, hence the need to seek medical advice should be a priority. If the body temperature drops to 35 degrees Celsius then this could also cause cancer, so again this needs to be checked out straight away.

When the body temperature drops below 36 degrees Celsius the body will start to shake in order to try and keep warm. According to the website www.nutrimaxorganic.com, when the body temperature reaches 35.5 degrees Celsius it is said that "the excretion function would start to go sluggish, autonomic nervous system would show signs of malfunction and a person [may] become hypersensitive."

It is always a good idea to check your body temperature regularly and this can easily be done with a thermometer found in most family first aid and medicine kits. If your temperature is persistently any other temperature than 37 degrees Celsius, you should visit your doctor.

Research has showed and all scientists are agreed that normal body temperature should be 97.6 to 98.6 oF. Body temperature can vary due to metabolic rate. If the metabolic rate is high then temperature can be high and can be low if metabolic rate is low. Temperature also differ due to environment. Rout of measuring body temperature is also important. Oral, armpit and rectal temperature measurements can be different. If you are asking about axillary temperature then 35.5 oC is normal otherwise it is not normal.
