That other person that answered is wrong. I'm a dental assistant.

12 year olds should normally have lost all 20 of their baby teeth at this age.  They should have all of their adult teeth, besides the wisdom teeth, erupted.

Adults have 32 teeth counting the wisdom teeth.
So they should have 28 teeth.

In some rare cases children don't develop certain teeth. Also, some children may not lose all of their baby teeth at this age, but in a normal scenario they should have.

By about age 12 or 13, most kids have lost all of their baby teeth and have a full set of permanent teeth. There are 32 permanent teeth in all — 12 more than the original set of baby teeth. Most people have four teeth (called wisdom teeth) grow in at the back of the mouth when they're between 17 and 25 years old.
