There is nothing to suggest that using e-cigarettes will lead to hyperactivity of any sort.
The documented side effects of "vaping" are largely external, and related to physical aspects of the body, rather than psychological. Commonly experienced side effects are:
- Dry mouth and skin
- Irritation and itchiness
- Burning sensation on the face
- Puffy eyes
The active ingredient in e-cigarette's is nicotine which is associated with it's "relaxing" side effects (e.g. Stress relief), but is interestingly both a relaxant and a stimulant.
Stimulation occurs when the smoker has a cigarette, a "hit" like feeling occurs which produces a discharge of adrenaline, however this is often then counteracted by the sedative effects of the drug, depending on the person's own nervous system.
Like any drug, the effects can and will vary from person to person, so just because being "hyper" is not generally considered to be something caused by e-cigarettes, that is not to say that this could not be some people's experience.
