I have had to give up my job due to ill health but have been refused PIP. Can I get sick payment benefit and for how long? I have a doctors unfit for work note?

If youre in the states, you can apply for Social Security Disability if you have been out of work for at least 1 year due to this illness or if DRs expect you to be out for more than a year to come. It isn't much but at least its something so check with SSI website s you have nothing to lose here. Good luck

Yes but its hard to tell how long this person has been out and I was told by the State of Florida to apply for mine 4 years ago as there is a 2-4 year waiting period but since I have so many DRs, mine took a record 6 weeks to start receiving checks so I feel sorry for those who have to wait years to even be approved but they will get a prorated check for all that time if you can survive
