Sorry, Gator. I hate it so much that just reading your question gave me anxiety. I'd rather give birth again. I had very disturbing births too. That's saying A LOT!!! If I could see you right now I'd give you a hug.

Sorry! I didn't mean to cause you anxiety. My husband is bad to. He needs to be gassed just to get a cleaning.

Long story short, I hated going to the dentist. In my adult years, I had to go due to cavities and found many that were not patient or kind. When a dentist that I had been going to was on a leave of absence, due to a heart attack, I was sent to his referral or backup.

What a complete difference. He was thorough and gentle and patient, and so was his staff. I had to have laughing gas just to fill a cavity for the first 5 years. Eventually we got to the point where I can go for my twice yearly cleaning without laughing gas at all.

There are a ton of dentists out there that catered to people that are fearful. So, if this one doesn't work out, don't hesitate to ask around for someone that will work with you on this. Good luck!

The dentist I had as a kid never really hurt me, but my mom always went with me. And because money was tight mom would only do one kid at a time. I know others where the parents took in two or more and stayed in the waiting room with the others. He was known to slap and yell at them. He was later arrested for giving selling pain prescriptions.

Then when my husband and I moved we had a hard time finding a dentist. Then he got called back after 9/11 and we mived to Virginia. Everyone recommended one office. I went there and what a great dentist! I have been saying since we left there if my insurance covered me going back it would be worth the plane ticket.

Today's visit went really well. No cavities. (YAY!) and I need a something done to correct where a previous dentist capped a tooth before all the infection was out and the infection went into the bone causing me to lose two teeth. This dentist actually went over all my options and his assistant even found a way I can get the insurance to cover more of the costs.

I hate going to the dentist even though there's never anything wrong with my teeth, I still don't like going. I don't think anyone does. Speaking of which, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning -_-
