Anyone workout walk, jog or run? I workout and walk.
I just have to tell the Blurtit Community, I finally walked nonstop 2 miles. I'm so happy. I'm going for 3 miles and bench press 50 lbs by Dec 31, 2016. I know it's not much on either but arthritis is not being friendly to my feet and knees.

Way to go Jan! I am sure you will reach your goal. I haven't worked out in awhile. I still have my gym membership, but haven't quite made it there. As you know I have a few things going on and haven't had much "me time" lately. Hopefully I can get back on track soon. I did map out a 1.6 mile walking course, and I hope to start walking it twice a day.

Hi, That's really good we you can map out a walking plan. I'm using a Fitbit.
How's your mom doing? I was thinking about her?

Mom is recovering well from surgery. We'll get the pathology back at the post-op appointment on Tuesday. If they got it all, we then talk to someone about radiation, or going straight to low dose chemo.

I have a Fitbit too. It as no shocker to me how much I need to get up and walk, but when it told me how little I sleep, I was a bit shocked. When I first started I was averaging about 5 1/2 hours. I have gotten up 6 1/2 most weeks and even hit 7 hours some weeks.

Yay!! Go Jan! I believe in you! I've always been active. Sabre takes me for a run every morning and I can usually get in about two or three miles. It's been difficult because it's been sooo cold in the morning lately. It'll be around 14-18 degrees this week in the mornings! Brr!

That's fabulous, Jan. It feels great to accomplish a goal that one thought almost impossible at one time. Yes, I walk often. I need to do it more, because I know I won't be able to for awhile. You go girl!!

My wife and I started walking three miles every day during the week about a month or so ago. I can't tell you how much better I feel in general as well as losing several pounds.

I walk almost every day. I walk the dog about a quarter mile, drop her off at home and walk another mile or two by myself.

She looks forward to her daily walks. It tires her out and she usually takes a good nap afterward.

i go to the gym 2 to 3 times a week. To help build up strength and muscle around my hips and knees to help support me.. I have severe arthritis caused by autoimmune issues (and my spine is pretty much bambood now). It was so bad at one point that it left me wheelchair bound for a year. Spent several months in physio to walk again.. (the condition i have also inflamed my tendons and ligaments. not just my joints, and caused me to have inflammatory bowel issues as well). all of these are controlled (eased) by a monthly shot that i take..

Hi Skunky that's excellent and I'm so happy you are getting your physical therapy fitness. I've heard those shots are easing a lot of pain and helping many to move around better. Good job :)

Good job!  Keep it up and continue to improve yourself. Always strive to improve your numbers and increase intensity.

Remember to STRETCH! Also, I highly suggest a regiment of meditating and/or yoga if that's too boring for you. If you have a gym membership, most places offer free classes.

I jog for 1 hour+ every morning before work at a 7'40-8 minute pace. Then another hour or two at the gym. Sometimes with the whole family.

I haven't been walking much this last week as I'll have to get used to being alone but I think that's great Jan ! I'm very proud of you and it's good to set goals for yourself like that.

GOOD JOB !

Good for you, Jan! :) I too suffer with arthritis in my left knee, very painful at times. Your determination helps me to see the need to get out and walk on the days that I am able to do so. Keep up the good work!

That is utterly FANTASTIC!!

Great work Jan, and I feel your pain . . . Literally. I had a meniscus tear repaired last Thanksgiving and my knee still hurts now. I think it might be arthritis so I use the elliptical (low impact to my knees) for my cardiovascular workout, and use free weights four days a week. It's tough but worth it in the end. Flax and Borage oil help the joints out a bit. Wal-Mart sells this triple capsule supplement.

Excellent, I've heard about it. I'll get a couple of bottles. Have you read anything about Eating According to Your Blood Type? I'm reading lots of online articles now.
