This is pretty open ended
Little bleeding during a period (mense) is called oligo-amenorrhea
It has a pretty wide differential ranging from low BMI to psychological stress to endocrine problems (these are problems that affect your endocrine glands ie glands that secrete their hormones directly into the blood), which may include thyroid dysfunction and polycystic ovarian syndrome. It may also include androgen excess (too much male hormone).
However if you've always had sparse bleeding during your period it could be entirely normal.
So don't panic and if it's really bothering you speak to your GP or local nursing sister.
