Yes the baby can be alive what happens is it suffers from lack of oxygen to the brain and malnutrition. However even with that risk your baby can still make it full term (as mine did) and be 100% healthy! There is nothing that can be done about it other than a surgery which puts the baby at risk of aborting itself so if you just deal with it, take it easy, and stay healthy you and your baby should be fine.
