These pieces of skin can be blood clots or uterine tissues. Basal layer of endometrium grows every month in a menstrual cycle and destroyed in case of no pregnancy during periods. This basal layer is broken down in to small pieces which you are saying pieces of skin. You should not worry about this condition.
