textIts ALWAYS painful . But that's not a blood clot at all it's a piece of the inner lining of your uterus. And its totally normal its like a snake or something shedding skin, it just happens. My best friend freaked out on this one too , but she paid to go see a doctor .

Large blood clots in the periods can be due to miscarriage. If you are sexually active and had large blood clots in the periods with cramps and heavy and prolonged bleeding then it might be indication of miscarriage.

Blood clots in periods are not always due to miscarriage. These clots in the periods of many women are normal because body produces anticoagulants and when the blood flow is fast then these anticoagulant can not start their function on time leading to blood clot formation.

You have clots in periods when you have excessive bleeding and you may have fibroids or endometriosis. It effects the womb muscles and causes dark color clots. You must see your doctor as soon as possible.

They're not blood clots
during your period you pass blood, other fluids and the lining of your uterus, thats the 'blood clot' you're seeing and its nothing out of the ordinary

I have this too although I am only young and have only had my period the last year or so, I told my mum and it really is nothing to worry about. When you have your period you loose the old lining of your womb and that sometimes comes out as clots don't worry unless you have severe pain, get spotting when your not on your period or if you are pregnant, Hope this helps x
