I don't know if you've ever heard that saying 'you are what you eat', but that pretty much sums up the effect that diet has on us.
If we eat things that are bad for us, or if we over-eat, we are likely to become ill.
If we don't eat enough, or if what we eat isn't fueling our body properly- then we will struggle to cope.
How does a bad diet affect us?
These days, the word 'diet' seems only to apply to people who have a problem with over-eating. Whilst this is a genuine issue, there are all sorts of ways that what we eat can have a negative effect on our health.
Here are some examples of the way diet can affect our health:
Eating too much sugar causes:
Not getting enough protein causes:
Consuming too many carbohydrates causes:
