- First of all, start wearing cotton underwear with loose fitting natural fiber clothing. Polyester clothing does not absorb any sweat. If a woman is overweight and has heavy thighs she might suffer extensive chafing. Profuse sweating can worsen the darkened area.
- Wash the genital area with some warm water after using the toilet. This discourages the build up of uric acid that can also lead to darkening of your bikini area.
- Use a non-acidic or herbal soap when bathing. This maintains the pH levels of the genital area and keeps it healthy and clean
- Mix some lemon juice together with a bit of turmeric or cucumber juice and apply it to the darkened areas. Lemon juice acts as a natural skin-bleaching agent. Leave on for about 20 minutes. Rinse off with some lukewarm water.
- Try using a mixture of lemon and curd.
- Another remedy is using a paste of water and sandalwood. Apply to the darkened area and leave to dry. It will soothe and cool the genital area.
- Using a paste of yogurt and orange peel will also soothe the area.
- Another excellent remedy is using a mixture of honey, lemon juice, milk powder and almond oil.
