The vagina itself does not have hair. But the outside parts of our genit*lia do have hair. That is called pubic hair. And it certainly is ok to have pubic hair while you're sexually active. Sex and pubic hair are both perfectly natural things after all, and humans have had both sex and pubic hair long before razors were invented!
Shaving or otherwise completely removing the pubic hair has only really been popular for the last twenty years or so. It gained popularity when more p*rn stars started doing it and when p*rn became even easier to watch with the invention and popularity of VHS, DVDs, and the internet.
But that doesn't mean that everyone does it or that you should do it. In fact, many ob-gyns do not recommend completely removing all your pubic hair. That's because your pubic hair protects your vagina sort of the same way that your eyelashes protect your eyes, by trapping bad stuff before it can get inside. Shaving can also cause infected hair follicles, irritation, and itching. And that means women who remove all their pubic hair are at an increased risk of vaginal infections! And that is not sexy! So it's healthier to leave it all natural. But you can also trim a bit or just shave the bikini line if you want to.
The decision is up to you, but do not do anything you are not comfortable with. Don't let anyone bully you or try to tell you that you're weird if you have pubic hair. That's been happening a lot lately. A lot of teens only know what they have seen in p*rn, so a lot of them mistakenly assume that everyone shaves it all off now and that it's weird not to do so. But p*rn is not real life! ;)
