Yes.
How, I am unsure.  Lots of tripe on the net, little empirical proof.
After 15 years of heavy smoking, mine started up.
Tinnitus, pressure, vertigo.  ENT and Ear specialists have given me tons of steroids and diuretics, all without effect.
'What the hell' I thought, and stopped smoking for a week.
Gone, all gone.  Other minor issues of withdrawal, but complete reversal of symptoms.
Too bad.  Smoking just isn't worth it anymore.

It might make it more sensitive or it might make you bad trip, otherwise I don't think so.
