It’s important to ensure that your child gets into the habit of eating healthily, and, if they are reluctant to do so, there’s nothing wrong with rewarding them for good behaviour and for consuming five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. The last thing you want is for your beloved daughter to be teased about her weight at school; this can cause self-esteem issues when in actuality she should be perfectly content with her appearance. There’s no shame in talking to her about the merits of keeping healthy, either.
You can also make keeping fit fun, and something that can be celebrated. It’s all about finding the hobbies that your daughter enjoys, and doing them together. You may enjoy cycling through the forests, going for long walks, or even having sprinting contests on the nearby school field. Engage your children and allow them to have purchase in the physical activities they do. This way, they’ll see it as fun, interesting and pleasurable" making losing weight and keeping healthy far from a chore.
