Chances are, your doctor will tell you to wrap up your foot and make sure that ice is kept on it. Your doctor will probably tell you that it’ll start to feel better in around a week or so, too. To be sure, however, it’s better to actually pay a visit to your doctor.

There are a number of things you can do to heal your damaged nerve in your foot. You can start by attempting to address an underlying cause. Even though nerve damage can simply result from your body aging, this isn’t usually the cause. You will normally find that there is a root cause to the problem, and these causes can include diabetes, toxicity, radiation exposure or physical trauma to the nerve in the foot. For people who often hurt their feet or are prone to damaging parts of their body, like diabetics, then you can purchase specialist diabetic shoes that provide extra protection from knocks and bumps.

No form of treatment will work in the long term if the root cause is not targeted and dealt with in the first place.

Many people find that B vitamins are a great way of healing their serves. The only way that the myelin sheath that surrounds the damaged nerves can be regenerated is through giving the body nutrients like this.  This means that other multivitamins are a great way of assisting the healing - in particular, B1 and B12 vitamins.

You should see your doctor if your foot takes far too long to heal. You’ll know that something’s wrong if in a few weeks your foot is still in the same pain and has not changed or healed at all.

Nerves take a long time to heal. I had tarsal tunnel surg 4 wk ago & can't feel my foot! Doc said depending on the severity of the damage to the nerves it could be up to 18 mth healing time. Start taking Vit B 50 or 100, it is suppose to help nerves repair. Elevate & ice as often as possible, avoid heat! Try taking an anti inflammatory drug, like ibuprofen. You should also make sure you have good shoes on that will help support the foot (assuming doc didn't give you an air boot) Good luck!!

This recently happened to my 12 year old daughter, well something similar.  The doctor told her to wrap her foot and keep ice on it, and it would start to feel better in a week or so.  And if it don't to return.  She is now doing better, however, can't do to much in cheerleading like she could before, til it is totally healed.  I would imagine if it is really bad, it may take up to 6 weeks or so, like a fracture would.  Make sure to exercise and ice it will help.  Sorry about your injury, hopefully it will get better soon.  Take it easy.

No one really knows. Some nerves are severed, some are in tact and just take time to mend. Some will get somewhat better, but not completely. Give it time.

Generally anything related to Plantar Fascia takes quite a long time to heal.
My sister alleviated her pain by buying shoes that had a built-up arch and a rolling sole.

I had back surgery 9 months ago and emg showed nerve damage that is healing itself. It has been 9 months since surgery. Should they be healed already or are they not going to heal?

I had a hand injury once and killed the nerve from the wrist down.  It just flopped around! Sports neurosurgeon said it would grow back at 1 centimeter per day, but it was 10 weeks before I had feeling and movement to the tips of all fingers.  Took longer to build the muscles back as they sure get weak quick.  I'm a southpaw and it was my left hand, but he said I might only have 85% recovery and I got 100%, so chin up!

I am 50 years old and broke my collar bone 5 months ago. The pain stopped after 4 months but the nerves (shoulder) are still damaged. I have reduced range of motion in my shoulder and I only experience pain if I try to force the shoulder to rotate past a certain point.  My orthopedic surgeon said it may take up to 8 months to heal. He also expects a full recovery and full range of motion.

It wont take very long I'd say about 1 month and a bit , because for me, my peripheral nerves are damaged and much more worse than yours and now its been about 6-7 months in healing and I'm starting to feel much more better and I think hopefully I will recover 100%
