THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main ingredient found in the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant is better known by the name marijuana, but is not actual marijuana. It is the main addictive, mind-altering substance that is found in marijuana. It is a prescription that a doctor can prescribe for pain or nausea. When taken in pill form, THC it can greatly reduce pain and aggression and it is able to stimulate the human appetite and reduce any nausea caused by food. When taken in very high doses, it gives the effect of being “high on marijuana” such as the feeling of extreme happiness or a spacey feeling.

Marinol is one prescription drug is that made with laboratory created TSH. Marinol is used to treat various eating disorders or to relieve the uncomfortable side effects caused by chemotherapy. Sometimes it is also prescribed to help relieve symptoms and pain for patients with full-blown AIDS. It has also been known to help cure the symptoms of many other illnesses such as various cancers, but it has not been proven to completely eliminate the illness from the body.

There is a lot of controversy over rather THC should be legalized or not. It does have a lot of positive medical benefits and has been proven to help sick people. On the other hand, it is abused by so many people today as a recreational illegal drug that it has a negative effect on people who are not sick. There are many for and against groups that carry both pros and cons for the THS legalization issues. One of the largest debates over THC is the long term effects of the substance. It is true that it does control or eliminate various bothersome symptoms, but what effect does it have on the human body in the long run after prolonged use? The controversy continues and has been presented many times before medical panels, congress and other important people.

Marijuana (Tetrahydrocannabinol,THC) is a green or gray mixture of dried, shredded flowers and leaves of the hemp plant ◄Cannabis Sativa. Today it is the most often used illegal drug in this country. There are over 200 slang terms for marijuana including "pot," "herb," "weed," "boom," "Mary Jane," "gangster," and "chronic." It is usually smoked as a cigarette (called a joint or a nail) or in a pipe or bong. In recent years, marijuana has appeared in blunts, which are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and refilled with marijuana, often in combination with another drug, such as crack. Some users also mix marijuana into foods or use it to brew tea.  I hope this helps to answer your question.

Blunts are not often used in combination with crack a lot of people smoke blunts and don't smoke crack. If you don't know about something then don't write about it. Ignorance is definitely your strong suit

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is found in Marijuana (it is NOT marijuana, pot).  The pill form of THC comes in a little orange ball like the one in the picture here.  The picture is in the public domain and came from here: en.wikipedia.org

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychotropic chemical contained IN marijuana... It is not the marijuana itself.  And "Marijuana" is itself a Mexican slang name that was adopted and popularized by newspapers which were owned by Randolph Hurst, who was one of the main movers and shakers behind getting marijuana outlawed.  Hemp was widely known at that time, and was a widely farmed crop (the first laws regarding hemp in America were mandatory grow laws requiring farmers to grow hemp).  Since hemp was well known, they used the name marijuana for two reasons.  It was a name that was not known, thus they could tell the populace about this "new" and dangerous drug without the general populace realizing they meant hemp.  And it also played upon anti-Mexican racist fears that were rampant in those days as a means of helping get laws passed against a supposedly "new" drug scourge coming out of Mexico.

Does not deserve quite such a bad rating, however, so I bumped it up somewhat. The loco-weed thing is a common misconception (and as such, is probably an average response to that question), lots of people think it refers to marijuana. However, loco-weed actually refers to Jimson-weed, which is native in North America. Some people have used it, smoking the leaves, which allegedly causes some sort of a high, but I understand it is much more dangerous than marijuana is. A bunch of kids here wound up in the hospital a couple years back as a result of eating the seeds, which are hallucinogenic. Very dangerous, however, since the potency varies widely from seed to seed, with no way to tell visually which is which.

Many believe marijuana was also what native amerinds smoked in the Peace Pipe too. But that is incorrect. Natives smoked, and introduced to Europeans, tobacco. Hemp was native to Europe and Asia and was brought to the New World by Europeans.
