Swollen glands are usually referred to swollen lymph nodes . Lymph nodes are small swellings of lymphatic system which are located in many places throughout body like neck, near collarbone, in the armpit and in the groin area. Their function is to filter the lymphatic fluid and trap bacteria and cancer cells that are moving in the body through lymphatic system. These lymph nodes swell as a result of infection and cancer.
Swollen lymph nodes in the neck can be due to infection or cancer (primary or metastatic) in the throat. This condition can change voice. Your problem of losing singing voice can be due to infection in the throat or throat cancer which cause lymph nodes to swell.
In my opinion you should visit to a doctor and get differential diagnosis and proper treatment.
