Here is an example of an abstract that could be used to illustrate the physiological and biochemical charges during a woman's menopause.
  • Aim
The intention of this study was to ascertain the prominence of trace elements in post-menopausal women in comparison to pre-menopausal women.
  • Methods
200 were chosen to be part of this study, of this group 100 were pre-menopausal (aged between 27 and 42 years) and the remaining 100 were post-menopausal (aged between 44-59 years). Each of the post-menopausal cases had not had a menstrual cycle for one year prior to the study. An approximation of the levels of zinc, iron, copper, magnesium and calcium serums were made for each subject in both of the groups.
  • Findings
After relative assessment, the iron serum (p <0.06) and the calcium serum (p <0.002) levels were discovered to be considerably augmented, whereas the copper serum (p <0.06) and the magnesium serum (p <0.06) results were discovered to be considerably reduced among the post-menopausal women in comparison to the levels found among the pre-menopausal women.

It was also ascertained that there was no noteworthy alteration in the zinc serum levels of among both groups of subjects (p >0.05).
  • Conclusion
It can be said that post-menopausal women are at an elevated risk of serum biochemical alterations in comparison with the pre-menopausal group of women, consequently leading to a greater threat of cardio-vascular disease and brittle bone disease post menopause.
