Vicodin is intended to be used as a prescription painkiller and any non indicated or non prescription use of it is expressly forbidden by federal law. Snorting any form of pill or powder is not recommended and can lead to serious issues. The general consensus and overall advice is "just don't do it.” Pills are designed to be digested in the stomach which is a highly acidic environment. It is common for pills to be filled with ammonia and other chemicals that wouldn't last a second in the stomach. You certainly wouldn't want them stuck in your nasal passages. Not to mention the possibility of insoluble matter lodged in the lungs that is going to make you cough and cough and cough until it's out. You don't want to be coughing up weird chemical fillers.
Vicodin and many other prescription pain killers are on the radar of the junkies and dealers. One will do anything to get high, the other anything to make a buck. With the many available drugs, both legal and illegal, people are still experimenting with drugs in different ways. We seem to have learned little from the 60’s LSD/Acid trips because we continue to experiment with new ways to use existing drugs.
Across the board, people who have snorted these and other pills are reporting that the effects are similar to simply swallowing the pills sometimes having a faster effect. While most boast about the faster effects of the snorting of the pills, others complain that the chinks are stuck and the high is taking just as long as or longer than swallowing the pills. Because of these experiments, the majority of admitted pill snorters are returning to just taking the pills orally or laying off of them altogether.
There are thousands of cases each year of people becoming addicted to pain killers after surgeries or other serious injuries. Know your limitations and know the path it leads to, addiction is too easy to ‘fall’ into.
