Gently slow down your chewing. Actually put your eating utensil down between bites. This will slow you down, prevents you from mindlessly wolfing down your food and after 20 minutes it allows your brain to start registering that you are becoming full.
Besides that, sometimes when your food gets cold its not so appealing.
Find healthy alternatives to eating—especially if you have been in the habit of eating whenever you are bored, tense, lonely, or depressed. Talk to someone you trust. Go for a walk, or exercise. Work on a hobby. Listen to music.
