They are unless you have a heart condition. Apparently they safer but not safe. They are suppose to help people quit, but I think they've become a new craze. If you are a bystander you inhale as much nicotine from the vapour as the person smoking it. I don't like the fact that they are advertised on TV either. I see people smoking these in cars, the smoke vapors fill the whole thing up, I'm surprised they can see to drive. When I walk down the street it looks like a dragon is coming towards me, then the fog clears and there stands a person. I hate walking through the stuff.
The UK appears to be on the forefront of examining actual information available on this topic. The RCP just took an in-depth look at much of the research available and released a massive (206 page) review along with their recommendations of full support of vaping as viable nicotine replacement therapy.
