• According to many fertility experts a follicle size of 25mm should give you a good chance, in relative terms, of becoming pregnant. I assume that as you are talking about follicle size in specific terms you are undergoing fertility treatment and are trying to optimize your chances. Research suggests that a follicle size of between 16 and 18mm is the minimum to be considered acceptable, so your chances are good. A follicle size of 25mm can be expected around day 16 of your cycle.

• Are you being given, or waiting for, pharmaceutical treatment to boost your prospects? Perhaps Clomid? Clomid is a drug that prohibits the hypothalamus from recognizing how much estrogen there is in the blood, thus triggering the pituitary glands to create more and more amounts of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This continued release of FSH then instigates the growth of ovarian follicles in order to aid reproduction.

• When you take Clomid your Luteinizig hormone (LH) will automatically rise. In addition to Clomid you may also be given Human Chorionic Gondatrophin (HCG) to optimize the possibility of ovulation. HCG is a hormone comparable to the LH that occurs during pregnancy and is usually administered on day 12 to stimulate ovulation, even if a LH surge is not produced by the pituitary gland.

• Specialists have deduced that women taking Clomid have a 15-30% chance of conception during their cycle.  I hope everything goes well for you!
