Temporary or permanent nerve damage in you calf/foot can be caused by this disease called Sciatica which is caused as a result of some form of irritation to the sciatic nerve. It does not usually because permanent nerve damage since the spinal cord is not present in the lower part of our body.

Some cases of nerve damage which are caused due to inflammation can cure themselves with time, perhaps within 6 to 3 months. Bed rest is not the best way to cure sciatica. You should remain active and indulge in some kind of gentle exercise and stretching. Activities like swimming, which are not weight bearing, are particularly useful. There are several treatments that you health practitioner can recommend.

In case you have a nerve damage in the calf the first important thing that you need to do is to relieve any kind of pressure that you are placing on the calf. Although I am not able to advise you completely but I can help you with some kind of little that you could do. You can even try and lift both your feet together and rest it on a stool. Apart from this you also get various other sprays like relispray, muscle repellent, to name a few.

It is best if you visit a doctor in this matter as he will also be good in advising you to the kind of little exercising that you can do. There are sprays available which you can apply and massage with in order to loosen the nerves.
