I wish I could use an x-ray to look at hot beach boys.

The dental x-ray or the radiograph looks for realistic signs of tooth decay. The alterations in the density of the tooth enamel and dentin are noticed in the x-ray image.

The darkened areas on a radiograph show places in or around the teeth, which are the breeding ground for tooth decay. It is understood that the decayed portion of the teeth is not so hard, which means that the x-rays can easily pierce through that portion of the tooth. It helps to read and understand the dental-x-ray when it is accompanied by pictures or animation. A mock dental x-ray animation is shown on www.animated-teeth.com/tooth_decay/t3_tooth_decay_remineralization.htm..
On this site, you will see 4 frames of the x-ray and understand what each of them mean with relation to tooth-decay.
