If you have not had menopause yet, having your ovaries removed forces you into immediate menopause.  You might want to look up menopause on wikipedia.com to see all the effects of that.  

Personally, getting menopause over with all at once instead of dragging through it for eighteen months or more seems like a good idea to me.  Also, the comment from Flutterby3 in this thread a year ago is a very good answer.

What is the alternate for hormone replacement theraphy can you answer because I m planning my suregery by 1st of april 2010. I m worried and I don't get sleep in the night when I think of removing my utres and overies. I have problem in my left overy it is 9 cms now please advise about hormone replacement. Doctor told that she will put me on hormoe replacement.
