The amount of time methadone is in your system depends on how much and how often you take it. A person taking 10 or 20 mg , single use may have it gone in 1 -3 days. A person taking 80 to 120 mg everyday will most likely have the a detection time of up to 2 weeks after usage has stopped. Methadone has a VERY long half life. Detox is worse than Heroin. If you are just worried about a drug test, I wouldn't be to alarmed. A standard test does not test for methadone. In fact methadone needs a specific test ran to detect it. Standard and almost all extended drug tests will only detect the opiates that metabolize into morphine (Heroin, Oxycontin, codeine, etc) hydrocodone, hydrophone , and darvocet are also among the opiates that need specific tests, however since the abuse of these is more common, they are sometimes included in the extended test. So, in conclusion unless you have a known history of methadone abuse or by some rare and highly uncommon test, the only thing you have to really worry about is the painful and long detox. Speaking from my own experience, I would try and taper down the dosage instead of cold turkey. Such as do 5mg less each day and or add an hour each time in between dosage. Drink a lot of water and take Imodium AD for your stomach and digestion. Good luck and stay off this stuff.

Methadone is stored in the fat and there's nothing you can do to get it out quick. It normally stays in the system 5-7 days.

You don't as any drug can be detected for up to 6 months after usage no matter what you do

You can not just flush methadone or any drug for that matter from your system. It is a waiting game and depending on how much and how strong it was will determine if it stays in your system 3 days or 2 weeks.
