I was on 130mg of methadone for about a year. I started coming down 5mg a day until I reached 30mg. I thought I'm in in constant withdrawl so I decided to walk off on 30mg. The next day I woke up sick as usual and had a suboxone I took it only one day after my last 30mg dose of methdone. I didnt take long to hit me .first my blood felt like it was running cold then it just took me down I couldnt get off the floor ive never ever had pain in every pore hair fiber of my body like I had that day. I really thought I was going to die it went on for hours and hours I felt like I was hung upside down and shook empty of every thing. Suboxone violated me!!! I had to break down and by 3 bags of heroin because the suffering was so bad all that did was make the violent vomiting shaking and sweating stop my suggestion never never ever do this if your on methadone wait 5 to 7 days atleast trust me its real ugly if you don't.
I have to answer this because I just did it , like, yesterday. Follow the instructions, even better, exceed them. Big me thought I could take 4 days of meth (30 mg per) in my own version of rapid detox and then start right in on the suboxone. I actually did start the sub while having some withdrawal but obviously I did not wait enough. I got to experience the delights of precipitated withdrawal firsthand. I had the night from hell and more. Like every shitty junky movie scene you've ever watched. I have a PDR and enough medical knowledge to be a pain in the ass so I started treating myself. Just kept taking the sub till I felt better.....hey, 10 pills later (in 12 hour period) it DID work and,.....ta da, I had induced myself. Yeah, but the long, hard way. Just putting this out there so you know.
The suboxone will knock the methadone off the opiate receptors in your brain and send you into major precipitated withdrawals. Trust me you do not want to try it. If you thought withdrawals from not having opiates were bad, its nothing compared to precipitated withdrawals.
It makes you want to die! It put me into a rapid withdrawl. I had to snort 2 OC 80s in 10 minutes just to pull myself out. That was less than 24 hours after doing methadone. So the next time all I could find was suboxones I waited like 2 days before trying it again; and again I got sick as hell! Within 15 minutes I was vomiting and having extreme bowl evacuations. I was then laying on the bathroom floor curled up next to the bathtub praying that one of my dealers would answer the phone. 4 hours later I got some Roxy 30s but yea I WILL NEVER EVER TOUCH SUBOXONE again!!! I heard that recently they came out with a new suboxone that doesnt send you into hell but I am not going to risk it!
Actually it DEPENDS on many factors...I have First Hand Experience on this. I was on about 30mg per day and I decided to switch to Bupe...at first after 70hrs I took 8mg and my withdrawal feelings (flu like feeling and upset stomach inability to sleep) went away but were replaced with a sense of depresonalization which was just a REACTION to the BUPE and nothing to do with the Naloxone...so I went back to the clinic and took 30mg and then took bupe and did this for a week, skiping every other day. I felt my Depression and Anxiety which was mild but nevertheless THERE...melt away! Then I walked off the clinic for good...but it you take TOO HIGH a dose of BUPE...the CELLING effect kicks in and KNOCKS everything out of the receptor...so it is Dose Dependent on Both the Meth and the Bupe
Well the answer to your question is that you will probably go into MAJOR withdrawal...when I was on suboxone I made the mistake of taking methadone and Ill tell you what I really wish I didnt. Suboxone is contraindicated with methadone, but being an addict I thought what the heck it can't be that bad...well I was wrong it was the most horrific withdrawal that I ever went thru....to be exact I took 110mgs of methadone with 16mgs of suboxone...it was horrible! My advice to you...don't take the methadone while your on suboxone. Good luck!
I went into a detox place before and they give me subutex a think its kind of the same was told to stay off meth 2-3 days before using subutex so being an addict a went and used heroin for those few days to let the meth out my system then once I was feeling strung out then the staff gave me my first dose of subutex..... I know it does put you into severe withdrawals have experienced it myself and wouldnt wish that on anyone hope this helps!!
You should listen to the above except for one thing...Methadone is also a opiate blocker...but it will still make you sick as hell if you mix the two within a certain time period.
Dude that will almost kill you!! Don't ever take sub on top of methadone. Are you crazy?? You'll feel real bad, I've done it. Not good man. Bad enough when you take a sub on top of oxys, let alone methadone.
I been on sub 24mg/6mg a day for 3 years and yesterday I took 2o mg of methadone and about three hours later took 1 1/2 of a suboxen and I didnt get sick actually felt a little buzz
