There are number of side effects associated with the use of clopidogrel and these include black tarry stools, blood in urine or stools, blood from vomiting, nosebleed, skin rash or itching, stomach pain and red or purple spots or discolouration on the skin. Some of the not so common symptoms include sudden weakness; fever; swelling of the lips, tongue, face, feet and hands; unusual heavy menstrual breeding, difficulty in breathing, tightening of the throat. Serious side effects include diarrhoea, mild stomach upset, indigestion etc.

Before taking or being prescribed with this medicine it is important that your doctor or health care professional know if you have been suffering from liver disease, stomach or intestinal ulcers, are breast feeding, are pregnant, had recent surgery or trauma etc.

I have been on clopididergrel tablets for 8 months to protect two stents in my heart-I am now experiencing quite a lot of bleeding under the skin from the slightest bump-how serious is this, and should I come off it.
