More than half of the pregnant females end up becoming more hairy than ever before and that is simply due to the hormonal changes that take place due to pregnancy in her body. The hair become much thicker, growth becomes very fast and some even lose hair during pregnancy, however this ends right after the pregnancy is over.

Not only the hair on the scalp grow fast, but a lot of women face the problem of having excess hair on the stomach, legs, chin, eyebrows, under arms, under legs and arms. This is one of the scariest parts for a woman because hair growth becomes out of control.

Normally the hair grows about one half inch per month and goes in to resting phase for a couple of months and then gradually falls out especially during shampooing or brushing. However during pregnancy the hair goes in to rest for a long period of time there fore very few hair falls off and thus making the hair thicker and fuller and enhancing their growth.

However once the pregnancy is over, the hair stop resting and gradually start to fall off and do not get scared because a lot of hair will fall off. This will only last for some time and your hair growth will be normal again.

Reason for the hair growth can also be the amount of iron and other prenatal vitamins a pregnant female takes during pregnancy. Also because of good resting and extra care she takes during this time.

If you are taking prenatal vitamins, it promotes the growing process as well as the health of your nails and hair. Let's not forget baby too. These vitamins also work on hair and nails when you're not pregnant.

It is said that the hair grows 0.5 on the every day person. So how much more does it grow on a pregnant female with or without prenatal vitamin?
