It really depends on the type you take, but if you are taking a pill it generally takes about a week for them to start working.

But you have to remember, they aren't fully effective for at least a month, until you have your first cycle. That helps you to regulate your periods.

If you get a IUD insertion it works right away. There are no hormones in the pregnant. It works as soon as it inserted by the doctor.

I always was told a month.It never hurts to wait and use condoms,cause trust me it sucks using condoms but it sucks even worse if you get pregnant and can't have the baby and having to go through an abortion,or haveing the baby knowing you are not financially stable enough to take care of it.

It depends on when you take it and then when it gets active in your body. It usually takes 73 hours to get active.

It starts to inhibit the hormones secreted from the anterior pituitary,once absorbed and reached a level that would inhibit that hormones[wihin a couple of days].

I think when you take it you should give it a good week.this way your kinda sure that it is in your system,but if your not sure jus contact your doctor,they can tell you exactly when it starts workinG.

Ok I'm in my fourth day taking birth control I was using a condom but it ended up breaking can I still end up pregnant
