Yes, after gallbladder surgery a woman can get pregnant. Pregnancy has nothing to do with the gall bladder.

I am wondering what the statistics are on full term healthy pregnancies after having the gallbladder removed.  I am 14 weeks pregnant, found out I conceived 6 months after my gallbladder was removed, went in for a routine check-up, and they couldn't find the heartbeat.  They pulled out 2 u/s machines and still found nothing.  I am going for a second opinion.  I know of one other instance of this after gallbladder surgery.

I saw that Michelle Duggar, from 19 kids and counting, when she had her last child, she started having gallbladder attacks during the pregnancy which triggered preeclampsia, they delivered early to protect both of them, then shortly after she had her gallbladder removed, then later they became pregnant, and at a little after 17 weeks, they went in for the 2nd routine ultrasound and found out the babies heart had stopped beating.

She only had one miscarriage before that, and it was when she was taking birth control and didn't know she was pregnant.  I have never had a miscarriage before, always had full term babies, and I wonder, is there a connection between the gallbladder removal and the lost pregnancies in the 2nd trimester?

When the gallbladder is removed, our bodies don't process food the same way, could it be possible there is something that we have not been studying thoroughly, or worse, that they are shielding from the public eye because they love to rush into gall surgery without thinking of other options, such as a machine that non-evasively pulverizes the stones and allows them to pass naturally like they do with kidney stones that are too large.

They decided not to allow insurance companies to carry out this procedure as sometimes it needs to be done on more than one occasion in a person's life.  Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery makes soooo much money each year, it is like mining gold from our abdomens.

I know that there could be no connection, but has there ever been a study?  My question is what if?  These kind of things need to be studied.  Possible risks need to be known.  I want to see a study.  Can anyone tell me about a pregnancy they had after gallbladder surgery?  Either way?  Good or bad?

Thank you!
