Not very long. It is one of the most rapidly absorbed and second most powerful, legally prescribed opiates available next to fentanyl. Peak plasma levels following oral administration are reached between 1 &1/2 and 2 hours, however analgesic effects are noticeable in less than an hour. It is very addictive so be sure to take it as prescribed.
