It can. However depending on who ordered the test i.e. Probation, work, family, it may or may not be ordered the best way to find out is to look at the chain of custody form (COC) that you have to sign when taking the UA. Normally an alcohol test is not given because well alcohol in most situations is legal to consume. In the case of taking a test for probation though it can be a term of the probation and they can test for it. EtG test can be used too, that test for alcohol metabolites in urine that can be present UP TO 80hrs after you stop drinking. These test are more expensive though, however I'm not sure how much more they cost. More than likely if you are tested for alcohol it will just be the basic ethanol test so don't drink for 24 hrs or so before the test and you should be fine. Also drink lots of water the day before and its a good idea to take a multivitamin (centrum) about 2-4 hrs before the test to prevent diluting the urine from drinking to much water. And eating is good to. I always eat something high in protein (burger or some kind of meat) 2-4 hrs before the test and take the multivitamin with the food and drink some juice as well. This wont guarantee that you will pass the drug test but you shouldn't have a dilute sample. Remember too that alcohol is removed from you system relatively fast depending on how much you drink. 1 beer, (1) 5oz glass of wine, (1) 1.5oz shot of hard liquor all take about 1hr each to be metabolized( for example 2 shots and a beer would take about 3hrs until a Breath test would be .000 ). The ethanol test which is more common can be passes easily in 12 hrs if you only drank 4-5 drinks in a few hrs the night before. It is good to remember that you should NEVER give the urine test right after you wake up. That is when there is a good chance of metabolites, ethanol, etc, are still present always use the 3rd or 4th piss of the day. And it is important to eat something a couple hrs before like mentioned, or at the least drink some juice so you don't give a dilute sample, they can be looked upon as being "Positive" depending on the situation. Hope this helps some. (My name is Bowlkilla for a reason ;) )
