There appears to be no real answer to this question on the Internet, it appears that Vaseline have decided to take the product off the market. A similar product, however, is currently manufactured by Watkins and provides the same kind of result that medicated Vaseline used to.

Vaseline is a petroleum jelly based product that is sold across the world, as is incredibly popular as a treatment for skin and wounds. It is currently owned by the multinational company Unilever, and offers a wide range of products from the traditional petroleum jelly product to deodorants. They also offer skin creams, soaps, lotions, personal lubricants and cleansers, as well as products under the ‘Vaseline Intensive Care’ range.

If you’re looking for medicated Vaseline then you can no doubt pick it up online somewhere. Many websites seem to offer the product, including import website ‘Alibaba’. You may even be able to pick it up on websites like eBay, where you do not buy products directly from the supplier, but instead from individuals that have purchased the product either in the past or from another supplier.

If you want to get something that performs the same thing as medicated Vaseline then talk to your pharmacist. There is bound to be a product out there that is able to help your wound or skin, and the pharmacist should be able to point you to a product that performs the same function and will be beneficial. Failing that, or in the circumstance that you have a severe problem that needs to be treated with something other than Vaseline, then your doctor will be your best bet. Not only can your doctor help you figure out what is wrong, but they can also provide you with the treatment and medication that you require.

I don't know.  I logged on to see if I could find a store that carried it, after getting a burn on my arm.  I first used the brown vaseline about 1978 when my son burned his hand on the iron.  After using the vaseline, the burn was completely healed and there was no sign of the burn within a week.  Over the years, I looked for it, but was unable to find it anywhere.  I believe it was made by Vaseline.  I'm going to send them a message regarding it and I suggest that others do the same.  Maybe, if more people knew about the benefits of it, they would put it back on the marget.

I also would like to know where I can find it and more importantly, why was it discontinued? It was inexpensive and worked wonderfully.

I actually still have 1/4 left of this amazing stuff in my jar. According to Wikipedia,  Vaseline was made by Chesebrough Ponds Inc and purchased by two well-known companies such as Ponds and then Unilever.

Man, I wish I had more because I cannot find anything like this. I just may have to purchase the Watkins product...I just hope it's as good as this one. I suggest that more people contact Unilever and complain!!

I have been looking for this brown medicated Vaseline for years.  I am so sad that I can't find it.  It worked well on all kinds of skin conditions like Eczema.  Shame it's not found in the USA anymore.  :(

You can have your doctor give you a prescription for medicated Vaseline and take it to your local compounding pharmacy and they will make it for you. About $100 per quart. Not sure there is a difference between carbolated Vaseline and medicated Vaseline but carbolated was the first name. Price is no object for this stuff.

I thought products like Neosporin were a good substitute for the Medicated Vaseline petroleum jelly, it works pretty well.

I also had difficulty finding Vaseline Intensive Care (VIC) medicated vaseline. But, lo and behold, I found a similar cream - one that looks like and smells like the VIC product. It's called Carmex and is available at Walgreen's. Hope this helps.
