At the age of 61, I am almost sure this is not normal. Are you sure it is your period? Maybe you are just now starting to hit menopause which is verry late if you ask me. When a woman starts the stages of menopause, she will bleed on and off for about a year kid of like a period but can vary every now and then. Some woman will even bleed for months at a time when entering into the stages of menopause. But please do not ask anyone els except for a health care provider because what you are experiencing may not be a menstrual period.
