The causes of fluttering in your uterus can be dependent on whether you are, in fact, pregnant or not. If there is a possibility that you could be pregnant, you should first get tested to see if you are expecting. Once you know either way, you will then be able to narrow down the reasons you may be experiencing this sensation.

If you are pregnant, fluttering is a normal sensation that can be felt both early on and late into the pregnancy. Sometimes it may be a sign of your uterus readjusting and in other cases it can be a signal for something as simple as gas. If this is your first pregnancy you are bound to be feeling a little nervous about any unusual feelings. This anxiety can play all sorts of tricks on the mind and exaggerate any movement you may be feeling. If you are really concerned about the sensations in your uterus or they have been occurring for a long time and are particularly prominent, then it is worth contacting your doctor. He will be able to give you more information or just give you some peace of mind.

If you are experiencing fluttering in your uterus and you are definitely not pregnant, again the sensation may not be a sign of anything too serious. Often movements in the intestines and stomach can feel like they are affecting your uterus. In other circumstances you may experience uterus fluttering before your period or during ovulation. Any extreme fluttering, particularly any that is painful, is something that you should consult the advice of a doctor about. If there are any cysts or problems that are causing this fluttering, he will be able to diagnose it as soon as possible. These sensations can often be quite psychological so even if there is nothing wrong, a doctor telling you this is likely to have a positive effect on your body.

Fluttering in uterus is usually referred to quickening during pregnancy. This can be due to possible fetal movements which start after 18 weeks of pregnancy. Some ladies feel fluttering in uterus before or after the periods. Because uterus contract to expel blood outside vagina. During pregnancy these fluttering can cause increase in the uterus in order to accommodate growing fetus. But it can also be sign of early labor or miscarriage. Organic growths in uterus and changes in the hormonal levels can also cause fluttering in uterus. In my opinion, you should visit a doctor for complete gynecological examination.
