Athlete foot is also called tinea pedis which is a fungal infection. This infection can result from moist feet. Tinea pedis is treated by topical preparations like Terbinafine, imidazole derivatives like clotrimazole and miconazole etc. In sever cases oral imidazole derivatives like ketoconazole, itraconazole and fluconazole are recommended. Oral terbinafine can also be used. Bleach water and ammonia water is not recommended alone by the dermatologists. 52% ammonia water can used to treat athelete foot in combination with oleic acid, the ketone acetone.
