Bacterial vagenitis is caused by bacteria. The discharge is free from odor. If you are having odor in discharge, then what type of smell is? There can be 3 types of infections namely fungal, bacterial or protozoan. This can be mixture of these three. There is no need to take antibiotic. Take imidazole derivatives which give coverage to fungus and gram positive bacteria. Combine this with anti protozoan medicine like flagyl. During treatment avoid sex. Advise your male partner to use topical imidazole derivative for complete eradication.
