If I'm up to it, I'll smoke one a day. But sometimes I take the capsules to help me sleep. Both really help my Meniere's disease.

I know a few who have prescriptions. They say it helps a lot. They have chronic diseases, and were looking for relief. They took pills for their symptoms but found that marijuana had less side effects than pills. They smoke a few times a day. The equivalent of one or two marijuana cigarettes a day.

I can't smoke marijuana due to drug testing. However, I have migraines frequently, the medication that I take rarely works and I have them for days at a time....so, if smoking a joint would ease my pain....and I actually could...I'd try it!

If you truly need it for medicinal purposes ... Capsules generally provide better relief, as the "drug" is more concentrated.

I have a friend with numerous physical ailments, and has lived the last 30+ years in constant pain.  She describes it as 11 on the scale of 1-to-10.  She grudgingly started taking the capsules a month ago - and now describes her constant pain as a level 1 or 2.  Unfortunately, the capsules are not covered by insurance (yet) and though they only cost $48 for a couple weeks' worth - that's a major cost for her, since her ailments prevent her from getting a job.

Perhaps it's time for your friend to plant a garden and buy papers. That reduces the cost to almost nothing. She can buy seeds at a head shop.

Unfortunately, with the number of "troubled" teens in the area ... it would be virtually impossible for her to grow it herself, without getting in trouble with the law for "providing" it to minors.

I haven't smoked in about 20 years. After I had surgery I no longer needed it. I had fibroids that caused severe cramps. My doctor even said he didn't know how could I stand up as I should have been doubled over in pain.
