No, meth certainly cannot enter your system from simply touching it. No substance can simply be absorbed through the skin and enter into your body in that way.

Methamphetamine can be administered via a number of routes (but not through touching!).

These methods are: Taking the drug orally, snorting meth through the nostrils, injecting it into the blood with the use of a needle or by smoking it with an "ice pipe".

Can meth get in your system by touching it?
  • Methamphetamine is a stimulant that targets the body's nervous system. It stimulates the body by accelerating the release of dopamine in the brain.
  • Dopamine is a naturally-occuring chemical found within the brain. It is responsible for feelings of reward, pleasure, motivation and euphoria.
  • Methamphetamine usage can be detected by most methods of drug testing. In a regular urine test it can be found up to four days after it was taken.
  • Similarly, it can be detected in the saliva for four days after use as well.
  • Blood tests can only find traces of meth up to three days after it was consumed.
  • Hair follicle testing is the best method for determining the long-term drug history of a user. This method of testing can find methamphetamine three months after it was last used.
