One sip of beer will be detected by a breathalyzer. But should not result in a fail due to legal levels which vary by state. However while on the job one sip detected by a breathalyzer shows you have been drinking on the job, and could result in a fail. Refer to your employee handbook for drug and alcohol tolerances
