what you need to do is eat smaller portions (3 regular sized portions every day, don't over eat), exercise daily, drink lots of water and stay away from junkfood and sugary drinks.
im losing weight myself but im not "dieting" (i lost 90 pounds so far). im just making better choices when it comes to food and portion sizes (for breakfast i have a piece of toast with a bit of peanut butter, a small bowl of oatmeal with raisins, a big glass of water, and some type of fruit)
for lunch i usually have a sandwich and a bowl of soup, a big glass of water, and an apple.
for dinner, i always eat a salad with homemade dressing (since its healthier than store stuff), for the main course i might have a chicken leg, veggie stir fry, and a bit of rice on the side.
(these are just small examples of some meals i have, just go on google and look for recipes)
If I eat tacos, i will just have 2 instead of 3 or 4 like before.
