I laugh at those who say it is bad not to take prenatal vitamins. The most important thing here is to eat right. DO NOT EAT CHEMICALLY INDUCED FOODS! Prenatal vitamins are not a requirement once you eat well. They are not to be depend upon to ensure your baby is healthy. People wake up already! Do you know how much junk are in these vitamins? Do you know that there is a link to prenatal vitamins and childhood obesity? Do you know the United States is the country that pushes for prenatal vitamins? Guess what? It's all a money making gimmick. Buy the right foods. Eat your veggies and fruit. Get some protein, calcuim and iron. You'll be fine. STOP ADDING MORE CHEMICALS TO YOUR BODIES. These vitamins are not organic. They're  filled with junk. Last but not least -Prenatal vitamins are not really regulated by the FDA. So, lord knows what those profit hungry companies are putting in it. You don't know what's in those vitamins so don't swear by them. I see poeple in this post swearing by prenatal vitamins. It's sad. You need to swear by the real fruit and veggies instead.

No. I didnt take mine the first three months because they made me throw up but I ate better to get what I needed. After I started feeling better I started taking them again. They just help you get what you may not be getting from your food.

What is does is it gives the baby all the viatmins and nourishment that it needs in order to grow properly. Because while you are pregnant there are things missing the womans body thats need it in order for the baby to grow and it helps fight against birth defects that some babies be born with because while the mother was in early pregnacy she did not get. So you need prenatal vitamins as well as prenatal care.
