Prolactin is an hormone secreted by lactrotropic cells of anterior pituitary gland. Its normal levels are 5-20 ng. Condition of  prolactin levels more than 20 is called hyperprolatinemia. This condition does not allow ovulation to occur. If ovulation take place then corpus luteum insufficiency result to miscarriage. So, with high prolactin levels, it is very difficult to get pregnant.
